Sam runs a business called Open Ground on the west coast of Scotland, organising place-based education projects and training. These projects work with local schools and teachers on long-term outdoor learning projects exploring all the different aspects of the locality. Sam is also writing up a part-time PhD in place-based education and philosophy at the University of Edinburgh.
